Sara Berti was born in Bologna, Italy in 1982. In 2006 she graduated as a sculptor and as a teacher of sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna. She lives and works now in Sharjah/United Arab Emirates.
Berti uses different materials, mainly bronze for sculptures, paper and canvas for graphic works and paintings. In 2005, still as a student, she had the honour to gain a commission to create a 5m sculpture – made of bronze and travertin stone – in front of the City Hospital in Ferrara. After finishing the Academy in Bologna she started a series of investigations and also international exhibitions on the topic of the body. Based on the famous Italian tradition of figurative sculpture, her work concentrates on showing the continuity between antique tradition and contemporary self-expression.

Sara Berti was invited to exhibitions in Italy, Hungary, Germany, Serbia, Denmark, Turkey, and in the United Arab Emirates. She also represented Italian art in Hungary for the Italian Pavilion of the 54th Venice Biennial.
